As part of the celebration of International Women’s Day,we are celebrating Agatha Ada Levi, from Sierra Leone.
Agatha Ada Levi is a dedicated individual with vast experience in advocacy and lobbying with special reference to children and women’s rights.
She is a mass communications degree holder from the University of Makeni in Sierra Leone.
She is the Country Coordinator for FemWorld International and Organization which focuses on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in Schools through the establishment of peer educators clubs in schools and communities in Sierra Leone
Agatha’s story as a victim of rape by a gang during her early days at the university and teenage pregnancy backed up with the drastic increased in school dropout rate due to teenage pregnancy and early marriage after her country’s Ebola crisis, the biasness involved in reporting such cases and the stigma attached to victim resulted in her interest to speak up, educate and empower young girls and Victims of sexual violence in rural communities
She has the passion to work with the poorest community and believe in team work by positively influencing others, creating acceptance and support for ideas.
Agatha is a Young African Leadership Initiative West Africa Fellow.
