Sandra Brew is a 19 year old young woman who hails from Apam in the Central Region of Ghana. During the first term of her second year in School , she had a scholarship by CAMFED(Campaign for Female Education), they paid the school fees and provided other essential items for her survival in school. After SHS, she was ushered into a network of CAMFED sponsored girls called CAMA(Campaign for Female Education Association), this is a network of young women who have been sponsored by CAMFED and are willing to re- invest the benefits of their education into their societies by way of giving back.
It was a new chapter in her district so she was elected as the district chairperson for Gomoa West,in the Central part of Ghana. At age 19,she leads her organization’s chapter in her district, in undertaking sensitization on education, health issues, advocating on issues that affect us in the society , donating to orphanage homes and special schools.With these myriad of experiences, she was again elected as the National Secretary for her organization in Ghana which has played a vital role in improving her leadership skills. As a young leader ,Sandra serves as role model to many girls in her community. .Aside that, She has volunteered to facilitate models on wellbeing, the environment n how SHS 2 students can take responsibility of their own learning n pass their Wassce, for a year in 1 Senior High school in her district. She also volunteer to deliver leadership models to High School 1 students in 4 regions in Ghana . Sandra has volunteered to teach class 2 students in a remote village in Gomoa West District for 2 terms now. As a public speaker, she also visits junior high Schools, Senior High School and tertiary institutions to speak to both beneficiaries and non beneficiaries to instill in them the need to come back to their communities to serve and make the world a better place, She also volunteered to facilitate in Career guidance and counselling to 9 Senior High Schools in central region.
In her own small way she support some children who find it difficult to go to school due to lack of petty items like school bags, exercise and note books, shoes, tuition and exams fees.Due to her outstanding leadership contribution in her community, in 2015,she was invited to participate in the Young African Leaders Regional West Africa program which is a signature effort of President Barack Obama to invest in young African leaders to acquire improved leadership skills to transforming their communities and countries.As an advocate for Education, Sandra believes every child whether boy or girl has a right to go to school and this right should not be infringed upon. She has been in their shoes and know how it feels to be needy or to be deprived of basic education . She believes that giving back to community will help other young people also get the best education in other to achieve their aims and aspirations in life.
